Cross- country running
Cross-country running is a very different activity from road running.
Yes it's running and it's friendly - possibly more so than road running.
BUT, it's definitely harder, invariably dirtier and very often wetter and colder!
This, of course, is because it is run mainly during the winter months.
The Club competes in two cross-country leagues - Birmingham and North Staffs. - which each have four races spread over the winter period from October to January. Those races are then followed by
County, Midland and National X-C Championship races spread over February and March. And don't worry, we can always find you extra races to fit in-between those to keep you busy! Unlike road
races, most cross-country activities are run on Saturdays.
Cross-country training and racing provides great strength and stamina preparation for your summer road racing (or improved general fitness, if you're not a road racer).
And don't worry girls / ladies - there is sex equality in cross-country racing. You are welcome to get wet, muddy and tired as well ! .YOU WILL ENJOY IT.
CALLING ALL HARRIERS - WE NEED YOU TO RUN CROSS COUNTRY !
We now have the fixture for the 2001/2012 season and again we have entered both the North Staffs Cross Country league for Men, Ladies and Juniors and the Birmingham League for the Men. Although if
there are enough ladies interested we can enter a team in the Midland Ladies league.

The more runners that turn out the better the clubs chances. It is not just about the people who are the six or four counters in the race. Every runner counts and every
runner helps the team.
So PLEASE, watch this space for details of up-coming races and let your team managers know that you intend running.
REMEMBER - IT'S FUN!

This is our current Chairman having FUN!!!
