BELLS OF PATTINGHAM
16/10/11
Two of our juniors went down to the Bells to take part in the 3k ish Fun Run. It was over the first part of the main Bells course. Nathan Sabin romped home with a very comfortable run. Then as the next four runners entered the field it was always going to be a tight finish. However brother Tom found a final kick that saw off the much older opposition. A great one two for the Harriers. A great one two for the Sabin's.

GAWSWORTH 5K
11/9/11
Elisha Walker represented the Harriers in this race in Macclesfield. Those who know Macclesfield will know it was not an easy course. Elisha finished in 2nd place overall and was first lady in 24-24. Well done.

LICHFIELD FUN RUN
11/9/11
One of the better Fun Runs on the local circuit attracted a very good turnout and decent quality field. Run over 2.25km the race starts by going around the field then up a hill into an housing estate then around the streets until arriving back in the main field. Our three young Harriers ran very well with Ellie Baxter coming in 3rd girl and 16th overall in a time of 10.34, Millie Stanyer 28th overall and Ellie Stanyer 29th. All three did say how much they enjoyed the run as you can see from the photo. Well done girls.
UTTOXETER FUN RUN
Although only four Harriers took part in this race they really let other clubs know we are about. On the day when the Senior mens team won the team prize then our young athletes made sure they were not to be ignored.
Nathan Sabin came home in second place but was 1st U16, Tom Sabin was 6th and 1st U12, Elisha Wlaker was 14th and 1st L12 and then our newest Harrier Callum Price was 16th. This was out of a field of 76. Well done to you all and lets hope we can get even more out in up and coming races.
Here are Callum, Tom, Nathan and Elisha after the Uttoxeter race

NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 19/02/2011
report from Frank Grant
We had six juniors run in different races at the National Cross Country Championships at Alton Towers on Saturday the 19th of February. It was a proper cross country day with the weather rain at first then very damp and chilly with the ground very thick mud and very slippery but this did not put our youngsters off.
First to race was Nathan Sabin in the boys under 15s and as usual he had a very good run and finished 90th out of 326 finisher in a time of 18-57 beating some of his local rivals.
Next to run was the girls under 13s we had three runners and leading them home was Hannah Talbot running like if there was no mud to finish 215th in 17-13, Ellie Baxter was our next girl home 323rd in 19-03 a good performance as Ellie as not been to well since Christmas and Laura Taylor finished 335th in19-18 a good run started off nice and easy and made up a lot of ground there was 363 finishers in this race.
The last race for our juniors was the boys under 13s we had Tom Sabin and Joe Smith run in this one Tom finished 273rd in 11-10 and Joe 285th in 11-21 this was over a shortend course due to the conditions getting worse there were 327 finishers in that race.
Well done to these six juniors.
A Note From our Chairman- Pete Burns
I must commend our juniors for their efforts at the National Championships. I am a member of the ECCA Championship Committee who organised this years Championships and I was the Event Manager. I had been at Alton Towers from Wednesday to help setting the course, but then due to heavy rain and snow during Friday night the whole course changed.
As a committee we all agreed that due to these conditions this years course was the most challenging course that we could remember for many, many years. Some said it was the most difficult ever. There were times during the day when there was a chance of the event being abandoned. To be able to say that you took part in and completed the 2011 National Championships is something that you should all remember and be proud of. Well done all of you.
How muddy was it? Ask Joe and Tom

Here is Nathan Sabin avoiding the dry line at Alton Towers prefering the mud.

Any captions please to just what Ellie is thinking.

ENNSTONE FUN RUN 13/02/2011
On a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning Elisha Walker did the Harriers proud, she came 2nd overall in a time of 13.28, winning the 'First Lady Title',as you can see by the photograph Elisha is very
proud of her achievement.
Well done Elisha.

STAFFS SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY FINALS
On a dreadful day for running five of our Junior Harriers bravely ran in the Staffs Schools Finals at Staffordshire University. All the races had high quality fields and our five Harriers competed extremely well. Ellie Baxter, Elisha Walker, Robyn Vlok (YR 7 Girls) Laura Taylor (Junior Girls) and Alex Mackay ( Yr 7 Boys) represented Stafford Schools against teams from the rest of the Staffordshire Schools area. Unfortunately the only results to hand are from the Yr 7 girls. Elisha Walker carried on her fine recent form to finish an amazing 6th, Ellie Baxter, who has been suffering with a long term chest infection came in a very good 10th and Robyn Vlok, her first run since November came 17th. I do know that Laura and Alex had really tough competition but really stuck to the task. Well done to them all
You can see from the state of the girls how bad the weather was.
