SHUGBOROUGH RELAYS - 17 JUNE 2009.
The annual - and increasingly popular - 2mile relays took part on a lovely sunny evening, in spite of a strong threat of heavy rain continuing from the afternoon. The rain stopped and most of the clouds cleared just in time for the prompt 7:30pm start. Earlier rain had left the grassy area’s a little slippery - particularly the finish line - but in spite of a few slips & slides no one was injured.
270 teams entered and ran as one of 16 team categories.

This year the Lucozade Sport van was there, very ably manned by Emma Kingzett, to provide advice and samples to all who visited their van.
We hope this is the beginning of a long and fruitful association between the Club and the Lucozade Sport Team.
The evening ended, of course, with the presentation of trophies to winning teams in each category, just as the sun was setting over the horizon
