About the race

The course is an accurate 2 miles of tarmac drives and solid woodland pathways. Teams consist of 4 competitors representing Running or Athletic clubs, groups of friends, work colleagues, family, other sporting clubs and shops.

  • Everyone will get a medal for taking part
  • Prizes will be awarded to each member of the winning team in each category
  • Trophy – fastest Male and Female. Medals for ALL FINISHERS.
  • Teams are recommended to arrive on site no later than 7:00 pm.
  • Ample car parking is available. Car parks open 5 pm
  • There are no changing or showering facilities so please arrive ready to run.
  • Refreshment onsite café & shop will be open for hot & cold food & drinks.
  • No entries on the day. Max 400 teams.
  • No minimum age but under 8’s should be accompanied as per UKA guidelines.
  • Race numbers are to be picked up at Registration.

Categories (changed for 2024)

Prizes are awarded to the winners in the following categories.

1 Mens Team (Open)
2 Ladies Team (Open)
3 Mixed Team (at least 2 females)
4 Veteran Mens team (over 160 years team total age)
5 Veteran Ladies team (over 160 years team total age)
6 Veteran Mixed team (over 160 years team total age and at least 2 females)
7 Super Mixed Vets (over 240 years team total age and at least 2 x ladies)
8 Junior Boys team (16 & under)
9 Junior Girls team (16 & under)
10 Junior Mixed Team (16 & under and at least 2 girls)
11 Works Team (all must be employers/employees of the same company)
12 Family Team Four members of the same family including at least two children 16 years or under

Trophy – Fastest Male and Female. 
Medals for all Finishers.

JCRS Best Team Name award
The 2024 award went to “Pass the ‘Bat’on” (Stone Master Marathoners)

The course was measured on 19 May 17 by Rob Cope, a member of the Association of UK Course Measurers and was certified accurate. Club member, Ian Hodkinson, accompanied him

NUMBERS AND CHIPS ARE TO BE COLLECTED ON THE NIGHT.

PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE BEFORE 7:00 pm SO THAT YOU CAN COLLECT YOUR NUMBERS.

Numbers (BIBs and Chips) for runners will be handed out in a pack of four ie for the whole team. You must arrange with your team when and where to meet. There will be up to 400 teams and so could be 1600 runners. Please arrive in plenty of time. RACE START 7:30 PM

2024 CAR PARKING

Due to safety, we will not park within the Showground but will use the car park on the other side of the main road. There is an underpass to take people safely to the race.

Car Park will open from 5:00 pm

For clubs with tents etc there is no drop-off point so be prepared to carry your kit about 500 metres
