Summer is nearly here

CHANGES for the Summer

We will continue to use our online booking system for all of our training sessions and most of our social events. This allows our session leaders to see who is planning to arrive. To ensure the group departure isn’t delayed, please inform us if you can’t make it all it takes is a simple email to info@staffordharriers.co.uk

Wednesday training session changes

On the last Wednesday of every month, we will be holding a 5K Time Trial this will replace all the normal Wednesday sessions. These are to help gain race experience & provide regular fast, timed, runs for people to aim & use to gauge improvement.

The next will be 25th May.

Thursday training session changes

The summer routine for Thursday training sessions will be returning to the Chase.

On the first Thursday of every month it will be a road run from the Cricket Club — this is to allow the Chippy night to continue.

Due to the distance from town, the Chase runs will meet at 6pm for a 6:15pm start.

The location will be fixed for each month May will be White House Car Park.

Leon Stringer will also be taking a road run most weeks.

Thursday Chippy night to be expanded

To be held on the first Thursday night of every month from 7:15/7:30 after a road run. Over the summer we want to introduce casual and informal discussions every month. The subject matter is open to members’ suggestions and open to anyone to bring tips, ideas, suggestions & share their own routine.

4th August “Team & Cross Country Events”

Other suggestions already voiced are “Marathons”, “Training Plans”, “Alternative training methods”

If you have additional ideas please share them with any of our coaches and leaders.

Friday Improvers road run is going off-road!!

Starting 1st April Tom and I are planning to return to our “normal summer routine”. I say normal but after two years it doesn’t seem that normal.

29th we will be at Vista View car park (the old handicap car park) — from the Green in Brocton go up the hill and it is the first large car park on the right — down a small side road

6th May we will be at the Castle

These will be Improvers level runs and so can be a good introduction to off-road.

Runs at the weekend

Any of our leaders can take adhoc sessions over the weekend. We will add an event for you to book. The meeting point, distance and ability level will be stated in the event description.

Club Run Monday  16th May, 6th June

We have had our first session, I thought it was great fun and I think we could all learn something by taking part in the next one – Colin Mitchell
