Challenge 2023

As we come close to the end of the year this year’s Challenge is nearly over.

Again the groups are close, people are fighting for every point.

With so few races left, I would like to remind people that their joker counts for double points. You need to tell Ian or email us (info@staffordharriers.co.uk) at least 7 days before the event.

Also, we have an open event for any marathon you have run in 2023!

For those of you who didn’t take part this year, the fun starts again in January (42 days to go), so now is the time to look at this year’s event and think about joining the fun.

2024 membership fees

England Athletics has notified us that the individual registration fee for 2024 will increase from £17 to £19.
The committee has decided that all types of Harriers membership will be offered without EA membership, but people are able to become individual EA members with an additional fee.
All paid-up members of Stafford Harriers are covered by the club’s insurance with England Athletics regardless of whether they choose to be registered or not.
So what does EA membership give you?
A Harrier needs to be registered with EA if they wish to represent the club in a race that is affiliated to EA. This includes events such as the North Staffs Cross Country and Sutton Park relays. Most road races offer a small discount to people who have individual EA membership (approx £3 or £4 per race).
The committee has decided that fees for 2024 will be as follows.
Junior and full-time students have two options
a)£20 without EA registration
b)£29 with EA registration ( the club will continue to subsidise EA registration)
Adult members will have two options
a) £30 without EA registration
b)£49 with EA registration
Family membership £80 for two adults and up to two juniors. All without EA registration. If EA membership is required they should register individually.
Over70 members will have two options
a) Free without EA registration
b) £19 with EA registration.
Associate members are still free but are reminded that they can’t take part in our training session.
Upgrade options are available if people want to add EA membership during 2024.
I hope you will agree that the above fees represent exceptional value for money when compared with the cost of other sporting and leisure activities. The above fees will be payable from 1st January 2024.

Is the thought of an hour running putting you off ?

Are you a member that hasn’t run for a couple of months or more?
